Microsoft has stopped making softwares for windows xp. So, the latest version you can play on xp is windows media player 11. If you want to download windows media player 12 then you will have to upgrade to windows 7.

otherwise download other programs like real player, gom player or vlc media player.

Sorry to say, but you cannot do that unless you either:

1: Upgrade to Windows 7 or;

2: Hack Windows XP's registery keys to help run it. (But I highly do not advise that because it can really cause a lot of problems with your computer if you do.)
